Trip to Bhardwaj Lake - Adjacent to Delhi
« on: June 29, 2016, 05:12:47 PM »
Helloz Everyone,
Sharing a recent trip details to Asola Sanctuary, Faridabad.

I love to travel alone and its best when I am on my Rottwheeler (Royal Enfield). It was 26th June, 2016, Sunday and I woke up at 5 oclk in the morning and decided to go some new place. After googling a lot I decided to skip usual places and highway driving and go for a place where I couldn't find human species. and the destination was Death Valley, Faridabad.

So at 6 o'clk, I kicked my Rottwheeler with gloves and helmet and started my journey for the day.
Route I selected was very simple Ramesh Nagar -> Rajouri -> Naraina -> AIIMS -> IIT -> Okhla -> Surajkund (don't go towards shooting range side) -> Asola

In morning, it took around 1 hour for me to reach the destination but while returning it took approx 2.5 hours..thanks to Delhi traffic (we need odd-even again)

Entry to Jungle is a little bit tricky, you need to go from backside of homes and covering a very small street. The roads are made of sand and stones, so its better you opt for bike or 4 by 4 car. Once you enter the jungle you would find road made of only sand no stones any further.

I won't be able to show you amazing pictures as I was alone and clicked photos only when I stop by bike for long.

The road behind the homes takes you through few big warehouses in the starting and then the amazing nature beauty starts.. In the starting you could easily spot few monkey and peacocks at large.
(Very low internet and mobile connections and absolutely no vendors/shops (thankfully))

Their are few marks on the stones you need to check regularly to confirm you are on right track.
You could easily spots animals foot signs on the sandy road and could hear them at large, its better to go their in group/ with safety material (knife).

after travelling a little you could spot water bodies on your right one after the other.. request you to not to stop at initial lakes as big and beautiful lake awaits for you. I was able to drive my Rottwheeler at the speed of 10kmph at max. By time I was driving for approx 1.5 hour in jungle (which include few stoppages).
the last 2 lakes were Bhardwaj Lake and Death Valley (you can check its beautiful pics on google/FB).
After stopping their and looking at nature for 1 hour, I turned back to my RottWheeler and to my amaze 3-4 monkeys were trying to ride it.. after little bit of tricks and their loss of patience I got back on my Rottwheeler and trottle by accelerating to keep all animals away from myself.
Bcoz I had nothing eaten or had a sip of water from morning I decided to come back. While returning back I could compare the beauty of last two lakes with initial three lakes.

When I got back to the road within 2 minutes you could spot Wine and Beer shop on main road only.
While returning I planned to go via shooting range and thanks to Delhi traffic it took me more than 2 hours to return back.

How is the weather generally near the lake, what was your experience weather wise? was it too hot? I think it's a very good short offroading destination during winter days.
Leave the trail, wherever you travel.
